Installation Instructions (Android Only)
For those unfamiliar with downloading and opening zipped files onto your Android (that are also not part of the normal app store like Google Play), please follow these steps:
-
Click the zip file link above.
-
Choose "download".
-
You will get a notification at the top of your phone when the download is complete. Tap "open".
-
A new window will open showing you the zip file with options at the bottom. Choose the "extract" option.
-
Tap on the extracted file when it appears (use the "three dots").
-
You will get a warning window pop-up about installing "unknown apps". Choose the Settings option to allow the installation process to continue.
-
A second warning pop-up will ask you to toggle the "Allow permission" for installing unknown apps. Toggle this to on.
-
Another pop-up window will ask if you want to install Aegis. Choose install.
-
You will get a final pop-up warning stating the unknown app was blocked. It instructs you to go into your Settings > Security & Privacy > Auto Blocker and turn this feature off temporarily*. Follow those instructions to turn off the Auto Block toggle.
-
You can now go back to the APK file and choose install.
-
Once installed, open Aegis.
-
After the Aegis app is installed, remember to go back into your settings and turn your Auto Blocker back on as this is how you keep your phone safe!
